ESSS Rocky DEM 2023 R1.1 v23.1.1

Description

ESSS Rocky DEM 2023 R1.1 v23.1.1

Rocky is an advanced software used to simulate process processes using bulk materials and related equipment. This software uses the Discrete Element Method (DEM), which can quickly and accurately calculate the flow behavior of particle flows of different shapes and sizes in conveyor lines, vibrating screens, mills, crushers, and other types of processing and transportation equipment.

Rocky's software products are developed based on 20 years of experience in developing computational methods using DEM technology by Granular Dynamics International LLC, a subsidiary of Conveyor Dynamics, Inc. Initially, the development of this product was carried out in mineral processing tasks, with a focus on calculating the movement of particles in cylindrical crushers and continuous transportation systems. With the release of the new version, Rocky's capabilities have been greatly expanded to perform a wider range of tasks, such as calculating and visualizing the wear of equipment working surfaces, calculating the airflow generated during the movement of bulk materials during transportation, and so on.

Compared to other software solutions using the DEM method, Rocky's main feature is the ability to use real aspherical particles to simulate their failure without losing mass and volume, as well as to calculate and visualize the wear of the working surface of equipment components. By being able to create realistic particle shapes that are identical to actual particles and taking into account Rocky's different "fluidity" conditions, it is possible to simulate the operation of almost any device.

For hundreds of years, bulk materials have been widely used and processed in different industries. However, there is still a lack of accurate information about their behavior under different conditions. In some cases, bulk materials behave like discrete solids, while in other cases they are compressed like liquids or even gases.
